Servant Is Back in Apple TV’s Top 10 Three Years After It Ended

Servant finished in January 2023. On 22 October 2026 it was the tenth most-watched series in the United States on Apple TV, according to FlixPatrol’s daily chart. No new episodes, no re-release, no cast reunion and no trailer. A four-season show that had already ended went back into a national Top 10 on its own.

Apple does not publish viewership, and FlixPatrol tracks rank rather than hours, so nobody outside the company can turn that tenth place into a number of viewers. What the chart does say is where the show sits against everything else on the service that day. For a series that ended in 2023, that is the part worth reading.

Where Servant sat in October 2026

FlixPatrol’s Apple TV chart for the United States placed Servant at tenth on 22 October 2026, and the series also reached the Top 10 in Belarus, Fiji and Mongolia earlier that week. Rank is the only figure available, because Apple has never released per-title viewer counts, so the placement compares the show with Apple’s own catalogue and not with Netflix or Prime Video.

Market Placement Date
United States 10th on Apple TV 22 October 2026
Belarus Top 10 Week of 19 October 2026
Fiji Top 10 Week of 19 October 2026
Mongolia Top 10 Week of 19 October 2026

A tenth place on a small catalogue is a weaker signal than it looks

Apple TV carries a catalogue in the hundreds of titles rather than the tens of thousands, so a modest lift can move a series several places in a day. Tenth on that service is real demand, and it is also a reminder that a ranking measures share of attention inside one catalogue rather than how many people watched.

That matters if you read charts as a quality list. A daily Top 10 rewards whatever people opened today. It does not know whether they finished episode one, and it does not compare a 2023 finale against a 2026 premiere on level terms. The only honest reading of the number is that on one Thursday in October, more people opened Servant than opened most other things on the service.

Late October is when horror gets a second opening weekend

Horror is the one genre that gets a seasonal release without anybody arranging one. Halloween puts a browse spike into anything with a scare attached, and a finished series gains more from that spike than a new one, because there is no wait between episodes and no cliffhanger left unresolved for a viewer who arrives late. CBR reported the placement under that exact logic, with Halloween a week away.

The format helps as well. Four seasons is more than a night and less than a commitment. A show with a finished ending is easier to recommend than one still running, because the person doing the recommending knows the last episode lands.

The reviews were already on record

Servant holds a 90% critic score and a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The endorsements that travel furthest were posted in the show’s first two years and are still doing the work a campaign would.

  • December 2019: Stephen King wrote on X, “SERVANT, on Apple+: Extremely creepy and totally involving. Two episodes and I’m hooked.”
  • April 2020: Guillermo del Toro posted a four-part thread calling it “a beautifully crafted, elegant show” and said Rupert Grint “almost steals it”.
  • 2021: King again, “SERVANT is back on Apple+. M. Night Shyamalan, spooky as hell, crawls right up your nerve-endings, need I say more?”

A line from a horror novelist sticks to a title in a way a percentage does not. It also survives the show ending, which is why a six-year-old post can still be quoted in a story about a 2026 chart position.

What the show is, for anyone arriving now

Tony Basgallop created it and M. Night Shyamalan was executive producer and showrunner. It ran four seasons from 2019 to 2023, with Lauren Ambrose and Toby Kebbell as Dorothy and Sean Turner, a Philadelphia couple whose marriage comes apart after the death of their 13-week-old son. Dorothy has a breakdown, the couple take up transitory object therapy with a lifelike reborn doll, and she comes to believe the doll is her child. Nell Tiger Free plays Leanne, the nanny hired to look after it, and Rupert Grint plays Dorothy’s brother Julian.

The pitch is a grief story with a horror engine attached. That is the reason a first episode is easy to start, and it is the reason the show reads as more than a scare anthology once the premise settles.

What I take from the chart

A finished show has one advantage a new one cannot buy. Somebody can start it tonight and finish it this month, and the chart does the advertising for free. That is why catalogue titles keep reappearing in weekly Top 10s while new shows with six-week campaigns drop out after a weekend.

I keep coming back to the same point on this site, and it applies to writing as much as to television. Old work does not need a relaunch to be found again. It needs the season to come round and the page to still be there when it does.

Servant is streaming on Apple TV with all four seasons available. The chart position will probably be gone in a week, and the show will still be there next October.
